In March 2025, BC Partners and Apollo acquired a majority stake in GFL’s Environmental Services division (“GES”), with GFL maintaining a minority ownership stake.
GES is a leading provider of liquid waste management and soil remediation services in Canada and the US. Its vertically integrated offering includes on-site field services, collection, transport, treatment, and final disposal of waste. The company has grown organically and through accretive M&A to become a Canadian leader and North American consolidator, with market-leading ESG credentials.
